I was having one of my personal ‘insights’ by the lake (along the lines of: “my goal is to have a healthy body to explore my outside environment, to keep a clear mind to explore my inner environment, while my spirit is the awareness of my self present in both environments...”) when this gorgeous butterfly landed on my feet and stayed with me for a while. It came and went several
more times for 10 or 15 minutes. Call it a coincidence or not, poetic or not, fantasy land story or not, but that was what happened last Sunday during a sunny and windy morning on the dock. The time was sublime, peaceful and magical. Fortunately, Roxanne arrived and had the chance to witness while I photographed unhurried such an amazing and friendly creature.

Any mortal being can fight in an octagon cage, but training in shorts surrounded by a multitude of hyperactive mosquitoes at Sunset time. . .
That's Gorindo Martial Art! Hahahaaa!
Another wonderful practice everyone!!!
Who hears of mosquitoes in September?
When your Sensei is asking you to stop in the middle of the class to look at the amazing Harvest Moon Rising... That's Gorindo Martial Art!
While training face to face with the Sunset by the river a multitude of smooth low flying seagulls made our day! Great advanced Gorindo Martial Art class everyone!
In some schools they see stars by striking to each other and they call that 'reality training'.
We instead train under the stars and see them while we are breathing! That's Gorindo Martial Art!
Today I am initiating a preparation for a full year of practice in the great outdoors. The weather will be my teacher and guide to my next personal plateau of learning, training and new experiences.
I plan to record the journey in a personal way. Also to extract some visual segments and writing reflections from my daily steps through the year.
Whatever format, manner or results, I hope to fine tune my self, not necessarily in the technical aspects of Gorindo but more like in the the inner exploration of being open to the experience, as part of the preparation for my 7th Dan.
Many times I have said that when the student graduates (symbolizing a positive and significant change) the teacher does as well. When one member of the school improves, his/her fellow students do also. So, this time it will be my way of sharing this unique experience with my students.
I am looking forward to celebrate our 25th Gorindo Anniversary year commencing the Autumn Equinox of 23rd Sept 2014.
Regardless of the limitations a minor injury may cause, visualize yourself performing with excellence...

You know that we did an intense training when once in the car, like today, the steam from the body heat fogged totally the interior of the windshield and windows!
